So good I've bought it here, on Amazon, and on CD. Saw them live once, when a guitarist was unavailable to tour so they snatched up a member of the Charles Talham band to cover...and they let him jam out, having fully incorporated his funk jazz esque style into their rebel country music. Years into touring, well into a back breaking tour at the truckstops-and-shared-motel-rooms level, and they were still THERE in the moment. Real musicians playing to crowds far smaller than they deserve.

I've been listening to this album, and others, for a while but the live performances of 'Firecracker' and 'Wild Turkey' , as well ad 'Darlin' Cory', at the Transatlantic Sessions show at the RFH was another level. Live music is the best. The whole concert was insanely good. Shame not to hear 'Black Myself' in that setting but it was all near perfection as it was.

There's only one track on this whole album I don't adore. The other nine would be my favorite track on almost any other album they stumbled into. "Years" is like the perfect Best Of album for a band that's been steadily putting out records for decades. 'Caroline Reese and the Drifting Fifth' level stuff here.
